Playlist Thursday - Speed Work

This week's theme is SPEED WORK. Any music that really gets your blood pumping and makes you wanna move faster around that track. I tend to gravitate towards electronica/house/or pop rock when I need a bit of push on those 800s.

I'm linking up with Brian over at PavementRunner most Thursdays that I remember to do this ;)

Same rules:

Something Old: Songs that are at least 5 years old. (I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.)
Something Current: Songs that have been released within the past year.
Something to Consider: This is the wild card category. Feel free to list any song: old, current, guilty pleasure, underground, whatever.
Before each song include: Artist, Title, Side Note: (Anything you want to say about the song) Quotable: (line form the song)

Something Old:
Artist: Bloc Party
Title: Flux
Side Note: Bloc Party is high on my list. This song is nothing but crazy energy from the first second of the song! Lyrics are a little all over the map, but I think it's talking about being in an unsettled state because of problems.
Quotable: "
If your right hand is causing you pain Cut it off cut it off If your colours have started to run  Let them all run, run away from you..."

Something New:
Artist: Swedish House Mafia
Title: Don't You Worry Child
Side Note: SWM is not a new band. I've been following them for years, but in the past couple of years with the explosion of dance music on the mainstream radio, they've rocketed to the top. I'm happy about that since every time I turn on the radio I have my own little dance party in my car.
Quotable:
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child. See heaven's got a plan for you.  Don't you worry, don't you worry now."

Something To Consider:
Artist: 30 Seconds to Mars
Title: Attack
Side Note: Well, if anything this song makes me want to punch those 800's in the face.
Quotable:
"I won't suffer, be broken, get tired, or wasted Surrender to nothing, or give up what I
Started and stopped it, from end to beginning  A new day is coming, and I am finally free..."

    1. Absolutely! I love almost every SHM has put out. They really only have one (album) of songs, but they are all catchy and have a great beat!

  4. Love that Swedish House Mafia song! Its music like that that I have on my running playlist along with some Skrillex (Voltage is my favorite). These are great for when you're running outside, but get a little intense screaming out of your headphones if you're in the gym :).
